India holds the 80th position on the Henley Passport Index
India holds the 80th position on the Henley Passport Index, with its passport granting visa-free access to 62 countries, an increase from the previous year's 57. The Henley Passport Index relies on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to assess and rank passports globally, serving as an indicator of diplomatic influence and passport accessibility.
Noteworthy destinations accessible to Indian passport holders without a visa include Angola, Bhutan, Cambodia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Malaysia, Nepal, Qatar, Thailand, and others.
In contrast, the top six nations with the most powerful passports, namely France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain, enable their citizens to travel visa-free to 194 countries, marking them as leaders in global passport strength.
